Let me first off start by saying I love good food! So studying nutrition, and getting to make food my career seemed like a natural fit. My education has given me the tools to apply the principles of food, nutrition and health to promoting the well-being of individuals. I really value balance and quality without deprivation when it comes to food. For myself this looks like finding the harmony between getting enough vegetables and fibre with a love of wine and southern BBQ. With the philosophy of balance and quality, many of my clients have had success reaching their goals and not even realized they were eating healthy!

My specialties are weight loss, weight management and all things healthy eating. I have had clients in all stages of life (20’s - 70’s). Many of which have differing health goals, from looking great for a tropical vacation to dealing with medical conditions that impact diet.

I have been in sports/athletics my whole life through soccer, football, track & field, powerlifting, bodybuilding. But, my true passion began in 1999 when I decided to pursue a career as a Fitness Coach. There are not many people that actually have their passion as a job. This passion has allowed me to excel and help others attain their dreams & goals. I love working with individuals that want a life-changing transformation inside and out. It has never been how many World Champions I have coached or the largest following, it has been about helping people become the best version of themselves, whether it be to get their body back after a baby, seeing their abs for the 1st time, or all the way to revenge to the “ex” I equally enjoy each challenge equally!

Through training, workshops and seminars I have been able to touch many peoples’ lives from around the world and am currently working with clients in 12 different countries. Hello, my name is Evelyn Cheng and I am the Registered Dietitian behind Eatuitive Nutrition Calgary. I believe that everyone can benefit from formal dietitian counselling. The same philosophies that help elite athletes achieve optimal performance can be applied to our full, urban lifestyles. Whether I am working with athletes on a sports nutrition program or helping busy, working professionals tune into their natural hunger and satiety rhythms, my approach to nutrition is grounded in mindful practices.

At Eatuitive Nutrition, we start our nutrition programs with resting metabolic rate and body composition testing, rooted in proven scientific methodologies. We consider nutrition needs that are personal to each individual, applying the science of nutrition, because there is no one-size-fits-all in health. Through a non-diet, intuitive eating approach, clients become healthier and happier by rediscovering the fulfillment of having a centered and satisfying relationship with food.

I received my five-year bachelor’s degree in nutrition from the University of Alberta, where I spent one year in clinical dietetic internship rotations in hospital, community and clinic settings. Post-degree, I also received the Certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) from the University of Calgary to better understand how and why people eat, as well as maintaining the ACSM certified personal trainer designation to involve movement for health.
